EDIT CONTAINS 4:3 MATERIAL<br/> <br />Hospital staff are working overtime to treat the some 800 people injured after a pair of deadly earthquakes struck southwest China Friday.<br/> <br />At least 80 people are confirmed dead, but that number is expected to rise as the quakes hit a remote region of the country with poor infrastructure and telecommunications, local media say.<br/> <br />Drinking water and relief supplies are being sent to the region.<br/> <br />Some of the 740,000 people affected from the double quakes are living in tent cities erected by the local governments.<br/> <br />Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited some of the victims late Friday.<br/> <br />The quakes, registering 5.6 and 5.7 respectively, caused landslides and falling rocks which added to the damages.<br/> <br />Officials say economic losses could reach more than 500 million dollars.
