ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Veteran designer Ralph Lauren took his woman on a gypsy caravan and spun her around on a Spanish dance floor for his spring 2013 collection, held at an off-site venue of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) in New York on Thursday (September 13).<br/> <br />Models in poet blouses with cascading ruffles, troubadour pants and embellished bolero jackets strutted down the runway carrying on the gypsy theme.<br/> <br />Large serapes and black leather fringe pants added some Latin flavor to the collection too.<br/> <br />For spring Lauren chose splashes of turquoise and tomato red as highlights in a mostly black and white collection, using silk, cotton and occasionally organza.<br/> <br />From fringy chiffon dresses in flower prints to more traditional looking evening wear, a hint of Spanish flare was ever present in the form of embroideries, accessories or fit.<br/> <br />The long evening gowns with ruffle details in silk and organza looked like they were ready to be worn by a flamenco dancer.<br/> <br />Lauren was one of the last designers showcasing at MBFW, with his show taking place on the last day of the week-long fashion fiesta.
