Pope Benedict arrives for a youth rally in Lebanon Saturday evening.<br/> <br />It is the second day of his visit -- a visit that has been clouded by war in neighboring Syria and protests across the Muslim world.<br/> <br />Peace between warring factions and among the many religious groups in the Middle East has been a central theme of Benedict's visit.<br/> <br />He also had a message for Syria.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (French) POPE BENEDICT SAYING:<br/> <br />"I understand, that there are young people from Syria here. I want to say how much I admire your courage. Tell your families and friends back home that the Pope has not forgotten you."<br/> <br />The German-born pope began his visit on Friday with a call for an end to all arms supplies to Syria, where the tiny Christian minority fears reprisals if Islamists come to power.<br/> <br />As night fell, the 85-year-old pontiff, was treated to a mixture of song and fireworks.
