ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir arrived in Cairo on Sunday for a two-day state visit, his first since the election of Islamist President Mohamed Mursi.<br/> <br />Bashir was greeted at the airport by Egyptian Vice President Mahmoud Mekki. He was then met by Mursi at the Presidential Palace.<br/> <br />Amnesty International had called for the withdrawal of the Egyptian invitation to the Sudanese President, if not his arrest, on arrival in the country.<br/> <br />The International Criminal Court has indicted the Sudanese leader for genocide and other crimes in the western Darfur region -- an accusation he denies.<br/> <br />Since the ICC arrest warrant was issued in 2009, Bashir has been able to travel widely to countries including China, Chad, Qatar, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Ethiopia - an embarrassment for the global court.
