Residents struggle to wade through floodwaters that have inundated their village in north-western Cambodia.<br/> <br />Around a thousand families in the area have been evacuated from their homes after heavy rain in neighbouring Thailand forced the Poipet River to overflow.<br/> <br />Evacuated villagers were moved to temporary accommodation in a fruit and vegetable market located just 200 metres from the Thai border.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Khmer) O'CHROU VILLAGER:<br/> <br />"I faced great difficulty when the floods came, it flooded my house, washed away my things. But I'm not worried about what was washed away, I had to escape."<br/> <br />Cambodian authorities say they expect the flooding to continue for the next four or five days.
