After violent rallies in opposition to a video offending Islam left at least 17 people dead in Pakistan, the United States has called for calm in the South Asian nation. <br /><br />Friday's demonstrations came after the Department of State spent $70,000 on an Urdu-language advertisement to say the US government had nothing to do with the controversial video.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Rosiland Jordan reports from the State Department.
