On Monday the Taliban released a video that they say depicts the planning and training for a deadly attack earlier this month on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan.

The footage shows the insurgents wearing U.S. military uniforms while practicing manoeuvres.

It also shows them delivering an English-language message.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED TALIBAN MEMBER, SAYING:

"Islam is not terrorism. Islam teach us the lesson of the brotherhood to us."

The Camp Bastion attack took place on September 14, and was one of the worst assaults on a NATO-operated base this year.

Two U.S. Marines were killed and nine others were wounded, while six Harrier fighter jets were destroyed and two others were badly damaged.

All but one of the 15 Taliban insurgents were killed, while the sole survivor was taken into custody by coalition forces.

According to IntelCenter, which obtained the footage, the Taliban said they plan to later release a full video of the attack on the base.
