A large demonstration in Athens has turned violent with police using tear gas and pepper spray to disperse protestors around the Greek parliament.<br /><br />Earlier, more than 50,000 people marched through the streets of the Greek capital as part of a general strike against yet more cuts in the state budget.<br /><br />At the heart of it, a plan to slash another $15 billion from government spending. That's against a background of declining living standards - and tax rises.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips reports from Athens.
