After NCP lost its minister and left the BJP fuming with anger in the multicrore irrigation scam, whistleblower Anjali Damania has named spiritual leader Bhaiyu Maharaj in the nation's biggest irrigation scam. Damania has claimed that Bhaiyu Maharaj asked BJP President Nitin Gadkari to go easy on the scam. She also claimed that Bhaiyu Maharaj tried to discourage BJP leader Kirit Somaiya from filing a PIL on the scam. The godman has denied the allegations levelled by Damania and said he's never heard of or met the activist. Meanwhile, fingers have also been pointed at the coterie of social activists like Baba Ramdev who is silent on corruption charges against Gadkari.
