Artillery fire echoes across the Syria-Turkey border.<br/> <br />On Saturday, Turkish forces fired into Syria for a fourth day after another mortar attack -- this time in Turkey's southern region.<br/> <br />Two or three mortar rounds landed on Turkish soil in Guvecci.<br/> <br />A local here said a lot of shellfire was just missing the border.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) UN-NAMED RESIDENT OF GUVECCI, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Artillery shells and mortar rounds are hitting around 20 metres from the Turkish border. They are even firing at vehicles that are bringing wounded people here."<br/> <br />This is the latest in a series of Turkish retaliatory strikes in the wake of a mortar bombing on Wednesday that killed five Turkish civilians, including children.<br/> <br />Residents in eastern city of Akcakale, the site of the deadly shelling, say they are still worried.<br/> <br />On Friday, Turkey's Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan warned Syria not to make the "fatal mistake" of escalating the cross-border conflict, but denied the nation was ready for all out war.<br/> <br />Syria's bloody civil war has carried on for more than a year and half, with violence spilling across its borders into neighboring Turkey and Jordan.
