The Russian government is considering a ban on smoking in public places in an effort to cut the number of smokers in the country by half.<br /><br />The prime minister Dmitri Medvedev said he deplored the fact that with a third of the population hooked, Russia has become the smoking capital of the world.<br /><br />He said almost 400,000 Russians die each year from smoking related causes.<br />http://www.euronews.net/
