The Rockettes are turning 85 this year and in honor of the dance troupe's legacy, Radio City Music Hall is taking fans on an exclusive tour behind the curtain.<br/> <br />The hour-long walking tours are taking place ahead of the annual Christmas Spectacular show.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) Joyce Hancock, Radio City Music Hall tour guide, saying (English):<br/> <br />"Our full stage is 144 feet across. We love to say it's wide enough for 36 high-kicking Rockettes."<br/> <br />Here's the studio where the girls rehearse.<br/> <br />The floor is marked with numbers, so that the women can practice and perfect that uniform kick-line.<br/> <br />And of course the tour wouldn't be complete without meeting a real Rockette.<br/> <br />Stephanie Madden is one of the seasoned dancers who will meet and greet fans in the backstage dressing room.<br/> <br />Guests can ask questions like: What does it take to be a Rockette?<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) Stephanie Madden, Rockette, saying (English):<br/> <br />"It takes talent. It takes motivation. It takes dedication."<br/> <br />And what's something fans would be surprised to know?<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) Stephanie Madden, Rockette, saying (English):<br/> <br />"One of our big secrets is that during the kick line, we actually don't touch, so we're linked up, but we are not touching when we do our kicks."<br/> <br />The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes Tour will run from October 22nd until the 24th.
