Here in Damascus - the aftermath of a deadly car bomb outside a police station.<br/> <br />Syrian state television said several people were killed in the Sunday morning blast in the capital's Bab Touma district.<br/> <br />The explosion happened as President Bashar al-Assad was meeting with international envoy Lakhdar Brahimi who's called for a temporary truce for the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.<br/> <br />Damascus residents said Assad's forces shelled several districts on the edge of the city overnight.<br/> <br />The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors violence across the country, said 140 people were killed in Syria on Saturday.
