As the United States' eastern seaboard struggles with epic flooding and massive power outages courtesy of 'superstorm' Sandy, many areas further inland are getting an early taste of winter.<br/> <br />Here in West Virginia a blizzard warning remains in effect, with at least two feet of snow already on the ground.<br/> <br />And in the mountains of North Carolina over a foot of snow was expected in some areas.<br/> <br />At a time when the leaves are normally just beginning to fall, Sandy also had parts of Kentucky and southwestern Virginia looking like a winter wonderland.<br/> <br />Sandy crashed ashore with hurricane-force winds in New Jersey on Monday night.<br/> <br />With at least 30 people killed in the United States, she's the biggest storm on record ever to hit the mainland.
