ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Times Square appeared to be coming back to life on Thursday after nearly three days of being mostly deserted due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.<br/> <br />The "Crossroads of the World" as many call it, saw shops closed from late on Monday as torrential rains and heavy winds lashed the Midtown section of Manhattan.<br/> <br />But on Thursday morning things were returning to normal as limited subway service brought commuters back to the heart of the city.<br/> <br />Though tourists began filling the iconic square, it was still far from the bustling and crowded area that attracts roughly one million people each day.
