Next week China's communist party will hand over power to a new leader... but little is known about Xi Jingping.<br/> <br />The son of a former reformist, Xi is no stranger to political life. But Beijing's tight control of information leave everyday Chinese with virtually no knowledge of Xi's opinions or style of rule.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE)(Mandarin) LAWYER ZHAI JING SAYING:<br/> <br />"I don't know much about him, but I think he should be the next leader. I think it will be better than before. Because now each generation is better than the last"<br/> <br />59-year old Xi studied chemical engineering at a university in Beijing, and earned a doctorate in Marxist theory.<br/> <br />In 2010, the Communist Party promoted him to vice chairman of the Party's Standing Committee, which oversees the country's military.<br/> <br />Many see Xi as a compromise between influential members of China's current and past leadership, and as such he's not expected to make any dramatic changes early on.<br/> <br />One thing Xi and other senior officials do agree upon-- the Communist Party will continue in China.
