This is the site of a deadly blast in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar.<br/> <br />Early on Wednesday a suicide bomber blew himself up, killing at least three people, including one senior officer.<br/> <br />The senior police investigator - who died along with his body guards - was apparently the attacker's intended target.<br/> <br />Scores of others were wounded in the blast.<br/> <br />According to local media networks, the Taliban later claimed responsibility for the attack.<br/> <br />Pakistan's Taliban, who are close to al Qaeda, are blamed for many of the suicide bombings across Pakistan.<br/> <br />Peshawar is an old trading city on the main route into nearby Afghanistan, but has been plagued by militant attacks in recent years.
