Its been seven months since Vladimir Putin returned to power as Russia's President.<br /><br />In that time he has passed a number of laws that rights groups say undermine civil liberties and freedom of speech. <br /><br />The latest controversial law passed is on treason.<br /><br />Rights activists say it's so vague that it would mean any dissenter could be branded a traitor.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Charles Stratford reports from Moscow.
