A court in New York Friday sentence 28 year old Adis Medunjanin (me-dune-JOHN-in) to life in prison for his role in plotting to bomb the New York City subway trains.<br/> <br />Medunjanin was arrested along with two other men in 2009 days before they planned to carry out the attack.<br/> <br />When asked if he would like to make a statement in court, Medunjanin recited verses from the Koran and gave a speech on the plight of Muslims and poor people.<br/> <br />Medunjanin was born in Bosnia but was naturalized as a U.S. citizen and attended high school in Queens New York.<br/> <br />One of Medunjanin's lawyers described him as a bright young man with a loving family who are seen here walking out of the courthouse.<br/> <br />Medunjanin's lawyers say they do plan to appeal.<br/> <br />The two co-conspirators in the bomb plot, both 27 years old, will be sentenced in the coming months.
