A trail of wreakage covers a German highway following a fatal accident on Sunday morning.<br/> <br />At least six people died in this crash, apparently under heavy fog near the southern town of Offenburg.<br/> <br />Five others were injured, including one seriously.<br/> <br />Police believe the accident was caused by a driver going the wrong way on the highway.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (German) HEAD OF OFFENBURG HIGHWAY POLICE, GUENTHER PREIS, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Shortly before 6 o'clock, we received information about a car driving down the highway in the wrong direction. Our forces were already on their way and just before they reached the highway, there was new information about a serious crash."<br/> <br />The accident happened on a stretch of road with no speed limit.<br/> <br />The lack of those restrictions are common across Germany, where drivers exceed speeds of 200km per hour.
