Egyptians remember anniversary of deadly clashes

(ROUGH CUT ONLY - NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Several thousand Egyptians gathered in a street in downtown Cairo on Monday (November 19) commemorating clashes that left 40 dead and more injured last year.<br/> <br />The clashes erupted in 2011 after riot police had cleared out a sit-in, in Tahrir square, the epicentre of Egypt's revolution. The thousands that had then converged onto Tahrir demanded the Military Council, who led the country at the time, resign.<br/> <br />During last year's clashes, police and protesters fired tear gas and threw stones at each other, respectively, for five continuous days.<br/> <br />Minor clashes erupted on Monday night between riot police and stone-throwing Egyptians in Alexandria, after a parallel protest there to the Cairo demonstration.
