Gunfire is heard in the Syrian frontier town of Ras al-Ain, as rebel soldiers gather close to the Turkish border.<br/> <br />Rebels have held a tentative hold over the town, which has been bombarded by forces loyal to the Syrian government.<br/> <br />Since fighting erupted, refugees have poured across the border seeking safety in Turkey.<br/> <br />On Saturday (November 24), many continued to flee, as Turkish soldiers kept watch from lookout posts.<br/> <br />Syria's neighbours are facing a refugee crisis as the ongoing conflict forces thousands from their homes.<br/> <br />The fighting in Ras al-Ain has also brought the war close to Turkish soil.<br/> <br />Ankara has repeatedly scrambled fighter jets and responded in kind to stray bullets flying into its territory.<br/> <br />As the conflict continues, activists say more then 40,000 people have been killed across Syria.
