Bangladesh blames sabotage for factory fire

Bangladeshi officials inspect the Tazreen textile factory where the country's worst-ever industrial blaze broke out on Saturday, killing 111 workers and injuring more than 150.<br/> <br />The officials say the deadly fire was the result of sabotage.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) BANGLADESH HOME MINISTER MOHIUDDIN KHAN ALAMGIR SAYING:<br/> <br />"On the basis of the preliminary inquiry, we have come to the conclusion that this is an act of sabotage."<br/> <br />Protesters have taken to the streets for a second day and garment factories across the country have stopped work in a national day of mourning.<br/> <br />At a girls' school near the factory, students wear black ribbons.<br/> <br />One girl says that they lost the mother of one of their classmates in the blaze, along with many others in the community.<br/> <br />Working conditions at Bangladeshi factories are notoriously poor, with little enforcement of safety laws.<br/> <br />At least 500 people have died in garment factory accidents in Bangladesh since 2006.
