Two deadly blasts tore through eastern Damascus on Wednesday, killing at least 34 people and seriously wounding more than 80 others.<br/> <br />The large explosions sent debris flying, crushing nearby cars in the district of Jaramana, home to many of Syria's Druze minority as well as Christians who have fled violence elsewhere.<br/> <br />The two car bombs exploded shortly after 6.40 in the morning local time.<br/> <br />An interior ministry source said 10 bags containing the remains of unidentified victims were taken from the scene of the blasts.<br/> <br />Activists say more than 40,000 people have been killed since President Bashar al-Assad's crackdown on protests began.
