Security forces on patrol outside a U.S. base targeted by suicide bombers in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday.<br/> <br />The militants detonated bombs and launched rockets at the base in Jalalabad.<br/> <br />Police said 12 bodies dressed in Afghan police or military uniforms were found near the base.<br/> <br />It wasn't immediately clear if the bodies were those of Afghan security personnel or militants.<br/> <br />The NATO-led International Assistance Force said an Afghan soldier was killed and several wounded in the attack.<br/> <br />The Taliban said in a text message that it was behind the early morning assault.<br/> <br />A suicide car bomber killed nine people in February at the same base which is almost exclusively used by NATO an the U.S. military.
