A volcano in Russia's Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula has erupted for the first time in 36 years.<br /><br />Polsky Tolbachik began spewing a column of ash seven kilometres into the atmosphere.<br /><br />A volcanic ash cloud formed and is drifting to the northwest as lava flows down the volcano's southern slope.<br /><br />The eruption poses no threat to the local population.<br />http://www.euronews.net/
