Although hedge fund drama "Arbitrage" was released in U.S. theaters three months ago, its star Richard Gere is promoting the film now -- in the hopes that more people will see it during awards season.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Richard Gere, actor, saying (English):<br/> <br />"I care for the film, most of all. If Nick gets attention for his script, Nick Jarecki who wrote and directed this really wonderful, wonderful script, if we get attention and I don't know who else, Nate (Parker) and Susan (Sarandon), I mean it really helps the movie. The point being, I like the movie a lot. I think we're all really proud of it. Of course we'd like the maximum number of people to see it."<br/> <br />The movie recalls the real-life scandals of high-flying bankers who made headlines during the recent financial crisis.<br/> <br />While the public may be hungry to watch the downfall of a greedy banker, Gere says fictional billionaire Robert Miller is not an all out bad guy.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Richard Gere, actor, saying (English):<br/> <br />"I think it was more interesting to show, not a villain in the traditional sense of a cartoon villain, but someone who we could recognize and maybe peel the onion."<br/> <br />The film has been available through video-on-demand and in limited U.S. theaters since September - and will be released on DVD on December 21st.
