The controversial presidential decree sparked mass protests in Cairo.<br /><br />On November 26, after days of mass protests President Mohamed Morsi clarified the decree saying the immunity only applied to quote sovereign matters.<br /><br />On December 6, Morsi supporters and opposition protesters clashed in front of the presidential palace. Seven people were killed.<br /><br />In response, the president called for a national dialogue. The opposition rejected the offer, forcing Morsi to finally rescend his controversial decree.
