Clashes rage in Lebanon's Tripoli

Clashes between Sunnis and Alawites rage on for a sixth day here in the Lebanese port city of Tripoli.<br/> <br />The sectarian clashes broke out between fighters loyal to opposing sides in neighouring Syria's civil war.<br/> <br />At least 10 people have been killed and scores are wounded.<br/> <br />The latest round of violence began when at least 14 Lebanese and Palestinian gunmen from northern Lebanon were killed in a Syrian town close to the border a week ago - reportedly by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.<br/> <br />On Sunday, Lebanese authorities received the first three bodies from the group.<br/> <br />Relatives of those killed gathered near the border, chanting as they received the bodies of their loved ones.<br/> <br />Tripoli is a majority Sunni city but is also home to a considerable Alawite population - the same sect to which Bashar al-Assad belongs.<br/> <br />Lebanon's population is deeply divided over Syria's crisis.<br/> <br />Local Shi'ite movement Hezbollah and its allies support Assad while most Sunnis support the revolt against him.
