Local media reported multiple people are dead after a shooting at a Connecticut elementary school.<br/> <br />The Hartford Courant said a gunman opened fire at a school in the town of Newtown - Friday morning.<br/> <br />The adult shooter reportedly died - and two handguns were found at the scene.<br/> <br />Police and emergency vehicles surrounded Sandy Hook Elementary School - as parents rushed to the area.<br/> <br />The school serves children in kindergarten through the fourth grade - children roughly five to ten years old.
