Air travelers bound for the US face increased scrutiny

Following the Christmas Day attempted bombing of a<br />Northwest Airlines flight, the US government has put into place new<br />criteria for random scanning of passengers on US-bound flights.<br />Nationals of 14 countries will be subjected to enhanced mandatory<br />screening and citizens of other "countries of interest" will also face<br />additional procedures. But questions remain about whether the new<br />invasive technology will violate civil rights or result in racial<br />profiling.
