Medical examiner: Connecticut massacre victims shot multiple times

A day after one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history, Connecticut's medical examiner said the victims were all shot multiple times.<br/> <br />H. Wayne Carver told reporters 12 girls, 8 boys and 6 adult women were killed in the school shooting in Newtown.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: H. Wayne Carver, Connecticut medical examiner<br/> <br />"I have been at this for a third of a century and my sensibilities may not be the average man but this probably is the worst I have seen."<br/> <br />The gunmen - identified by law enforcement sources as Adam Lanza - opened fire on Friday morning at Sandy Hook Elementary School - before killing himself.<br/> <br />Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance said investigators had "good evidence" on the shooter's motive.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance<br/> <br />"Investigators will be able to use in hopefully painting the complete picture as to how and more importantly why this occurred."<br/> <br />A day after the massacre - across the small suburban town, mourners carried flowers, cards and balloons.<br/> <br />Residents gathered at a local Church and - paid tribute to the victims at a makeshift memorial near the school.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Justin Cherry, mourner, Newtown resident<br/> <br />"I am absolutely devastated by it and I feel its probably the least I can do to just come here and pay my respects."<br/> <br />Late Saturday, officials released the names of the 26 victims - all of the children were aged six and seven.
