Buildings and cars wrecked in the path of Cyclone Evan.<br/> <br />The storm ripped through the South Pacific nation of Samoa bringing 100mph winds that felled trees and power lines.<br/> <br />The Ministry of Health offices are serving as a shelter to help the thousands who are now homeless.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE)(English) HEALTH MINISTRY ASSISTANT SOSEFINA TALAUTA SAYING:<br/> <br />"I think the emotional part of it hasn't really hit us yet. We're just glad we're able to help."<br/> <br />To the southwest, in Fiji, the government warned that gale force winds were on their way.<br/> <br />Resorts on the island were preparing guests, who seemed to be taking the approaching storm in stride.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE)(English) AUSTRALIAN TOURIST BRUCE GOLLAM SAYING:<br/> <br />"It says it's going to be pretty close but I think we'll be OK.
