Friends and family gather for the funeral of six-year-old Catherine Hubbard - in Newtown, Connecticut on Thursday.<br/> <br />Catherine - who had striking red hair and a love of animals - was one of twenty children killed on Friday - when a gunman opened fire in Sandy Hook Elementary School.<br/> <br />The gunman also killed 6 adults at the school - and his mother at home - before killing himself.<br/> <br />The shooting has reignited the debate over gun control in the United States.<br/> <br />In Washington, Vice President Joe Biden chaired the first gun task force meeting at the White House.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Vice President Joe Biden<br/> <br />"We have to have a comprehensive way which to respond to the mass murder of our children that we saw in Connecticut, but that is not the only incident."<br/> <br />Almost a week since the shooting, residents continue to visit memorials to the victims in the small Connecticut town.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Randy Kirik, Connecticut Resident:<br/> <br />"I'm still in a state of shock. I live nearby. I live like 15, 20 minutes away and it's something that is on your mind constantly."<br/> <br />Many mourners brought flowers, candles and sympathy notes to a growing memorial - near the school.<br/> <br />SOUNDBITE: Claire Bullock, Connecticut Resident:<br/> <br />"I think people are behind banning certain automatic guns and we can only just push forward and hope this never, ever happens again."<br/> <br />On Friday, much of the U.S. will pause in the morning to observe a moment of silence - as churches toll their bells 26 times - in honor of the victims.
