Mr. Zubyr Soomro is currently serving as the Chairman and CEO of Hikmah Consulting. Mr. Soomro has the International banking career with over 30 years at Citi mostly in country and business management roles across the Middle East,Turkey, and Pakistan. <br /><br />His current focus is on financial services consultancy (strategy, risk and microfinance) and the development and delivery of corporate governance programs for boards and senior management of commercial banks and C Suite Training for Fortune 50 companies. <br /><br />Mr. Soomro has worked extensively in leading industry associations and banking sector reform and participated in multiple Boards of banks, social sector entities and regulators. He was also the Chairman and President of a public sector bank (United Bank Limited) and charged with restructuring it and positioning it for privatization. <br /><br />Mr. Zubyr Soomro holds a Master degree in South Asian Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, U. of London.<br /><br />Some of Mr. Soomro’s specialties are:<br /><br />1. Restructuring banks (public and private) <br /><br />2. Risk management skills and experience including as Senior Credit Officer at Citi in multiple markets. Participated in Risk Reviews in 13 countries across 5 continents.<br /><br />3. Microfinance: 12 years engagement including with donors, raising debt/equity and in advisory roles.<br /><br />4. Corporate Governance training for bank boards, and micro finance entities including with IFC.<br /><br />5. Strategic Advisory for financial institutions.<br /><br />Mr. Soomro came as the guest speaker at the Pakistan Microfinance Network’s (PMN) All Members Meeting 2012 on 12th December, where he speaks on the issues related to the Corporate Governance.
