<p>Swarms of jellyfish filled waters of the Balaclava bay near the Ukrainian Black Sea on Wednesday (January 2) covering the water’s surface with a thick layer of the creatures.<br /><br />Many locals said they have never seen such a plague before and for some it has even disturbed their traditional hobbies<br /><br />Fishermen who work at the piers were reportedly quite happy with the plague, because the sea bass which hunts jellyfish followed their prey to Balaclava bay.<br /><br />Marine biologists were quoted by local media as saying the mass of jellyfish might arrive twice a year moved to the coast by the southern wind.<br /><br />When the wind changes they expect the jellyfish will be chased off.<br /><br />Masses of jellyfish arrived in the summer of 2012, spoiling the swimming season, but not nearly as many jellyfish as there are now.</p>
