The sleepy Swiss village of Daillon.<br/> <br />It was here on late Wednesday that a gunman opened fire, killing three women and wounding two more men.<br/> <br />Each of the three women was shot at least twice, in the head and in the chest.<br/> <br />The 33-year-old gunman who has not been name by police, threatened officers and was shot in the chest during his arrest and then taken to hospital.<br/> <br />Police say he was a local man who had been in psychaitric care and had a conviction for marijuana use.<br/> <br />He used at least two weapons including a rifle when he began firing at villagers from his apartment and then moved outside.<br/> <br />It appears he was not supposed to have any guns - his weapons having being seized in 2005.<br/> <br />Local media also reported the gunman had been drinking heavily and carried an assault rifle.<br/> <br />Gun ownership is widespread in Switzerland, with voters voting against gun control reforms in a 2011 referendum.
