Seven Chinese children are dead after a fire broke out in this private orphanage in Henan province.<br/> <br />The Friday blaze broke out at around 8:30am local time and was contained in about two hours.<br/> <br />But it was too late for the seven victims, four of whom died at the scene, while the three others perished on route to the hospital.<br/> <br />Media report the residence belongs to a woman who had adopted more than 100 children over the course of 27 years.<br/> <br />She did not have a proper license to operate this kind of facility.<br/> <br />The surviving children have been set up in a temporary shelter.
