Ailing Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's chosen successor, Nicolas Maduro, and National Assembly leader Diosdado Cabello stand united at this campaign rally.<br/> <br />But the country's opposition claims there's a rift between the two politicians.<br/> <br />Opposition lawmaker Julio Bordes said the broadcast footage of the two men together was only a spectacle, fabricated to show unity that doesn't exist.<br/> <br />If Chavez had to step down, or died, Cabello would take over the country as assembly president and a new election would be held within 30 days.<br/> <br />Chavez's heir apparent, Maduro, would be the ruling Socialist Party candidate.<br/> <br />The president, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in his pelvic area in mid-2011, has not been seen in public nor heard from in more than three weeks.<br/> <br />Officials say the 58-year-old is in delicate condition and has suffered multiple complications since surgery in Cuba last month.<br/> <br />His inauguration for another 6-year term as president has been delayed indefinitely.
