The newly-elected Congress government in Himachal Pradesh has already been dragged into a controversy. Party MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, who is accused of killing a 24-year-old woman, has been on the run for almost a month now. The police had issued an arrest warrant for Chaudhary on December 18 after he failed to join the investigation despite several notices by the police. Adding more embarrassment to the Congress, now the police has announced a cash reward of Rupees 2 lakh for the absconding MLA. The police is also camping in Dharamshala where Chaudhary is expected to turn up in order to take oath in the state assembly, which will be in session from Tuesday (Jan 8) for four days.
