U.S. Marshals guard the New York court house where an al Qaeda suspect is on trial.<br/> <br />Abid Naseer of Pakistan pleaded not guilty to terrorism charges on Monday after being extradited from the UK last week.<br/> <br />The 26-year-old is facing up to life in prison on allegations he was involved in a 2009 al Qaeda plot to bomb the New York City subway system.<br/> <br />Two other suspects in the case have pleaded guilty and a third has been convicted.<br/> <br />Naseer was also one of a dozen men arrested but never charged on allegations of conspiring to bomb the English city of Manchester in 2009.<br/> <br />U.S. prosecutors said he and another suspected terrorist coordinated plans for multi-national al Qaeda attacks via email using code words to discuss explosives and timings.<br/> <br />Naseer, who is being held without bail, is due back in court on March 7th.
