British music stars gathered at London's plush Savoy hotel to eagerly await this year's BRIT Award nominations.<br/> <br />Scottish singer Emeli Sande - whose debut album was Britain's biggest seller last year - scored three nods.<br/> <br />She was joined by folk act Mumford and Sons and indie rockers Alt-J with three BRIT Award nominations apiece.<br/> <br />Boyband sensation One Direction were also among the contenders for best British group.<br/> <br />The surprise of the night was Amy Winehouse's posthumous nomination for best female solo act.<br/> <br />She was shortlisted for an album of unreleased tracks and demos.<br/> <br />Another shock was the nod for veteran rockers The Rolling Stones as best British live act after their short, sell-out tour at the end of last year.
