France's defence minister has said a hostage held in Somalia is believed to have been killed during a botched rescue attempt by French forces.<br /><br />But al-Shabab fighters, who kidnapped the intelligence agent in 2009, denied he has been killed.<br /><br />The minister said one French commando was also killed and another is missing.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Rory Challands reports from Paris.
