An IPS officer was transferred after he booked and arrested Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) member's son for drunken brawl and assaulting policeman in Bhatinda, Punjab. ASP of Bhatinda, KB Patil, has been transferred to Amritsar after he acted against Prabhjot Singh Bahia, son of SGPC member Sukhdev Singh Bahia, and two others. The Congress has slammed the transfer and said that the police force in Punjab had been completely politicised and Akali Dal and SGPC leaders rule the roost. Recenlty, SGPC was at the centre of controversy when they felicitated the killers of ex-Army Chief and operation Bluestar commander General Vaidya and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
