A two month unilateral ceasefire declared by armed groups in Colombia has ended.<br /><br />The truce had been offered asa gesture of good will during a on-going peace talks in Cuba.<br /><br />The government of Juan Manuel Santos, however, refuses to accept any bilateral ceasefire, saying the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, FARC, have used such instances to recruit and strengthen.<br /><br />Sunday's deadline has civilians bracing themselves for an upsurge on violence. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Lucia Newman reports from the Cauca Valley, one of the worst conflict zones.
