Career-wise, Winner was best known internationally for his Death Wish movies starring Charles Bronson. In the UK he was known for his work as a newspaper columnist and the face of a motor insurance company. He also founded and funded the Police Memorial Trust in the UK following the murder of WPC Yvonne Fletcher outside the Libyan embassy in London in 1984.<br/> <br />During his 40 year movie making career, Michael Winner worked with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, including Marlon Brando, Robert Mitchum and Faye Dunaway.
