ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Twin explosions killed at least 4 persons, including a senior police official in Pakistan's commercial hub Karachi on Thursday evening, a hospital official said.<br/> <br />The injured were rushed to Jinnah hospital.<br/> <br />According to initial reports three policemen were killed and several others were injured in the blasts, minutes after a first blast in outskirts of Karachi's garbage dumb.<br/> <br />Three ambulances and one police van were also damaged.<br/> <br />The first bomb blast, in a garbage dump, appeared to be a small explosion to lure security officials and rescue workers.<br/> <br />The blast occurred on the eve of Eid-e-milad-un-Nabi (Birthday of Prophet Mohammad), which is celebrated with congregations and processions across the country every year to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad.<br/> <br />The Punjab government has announced that all mobile networks in Lahore will remain closed on Friday.<br/> <br />There was no claim of responsibility but Taliban militants are known to operate inside the city.<br/> <br />Pakistan's Taliban, who are close to al Qaeda, are blamed for many of the bombings across Pakistan, a strategic U.S. ally.
