Three Colombian police officers were killed by FARC rebels Friday when their vehicle was ambushed in the northern Colombian state of La Guajira.<br/> <br />The rebels fired on the officers with long-range weapons and then left an explosives-packed vehicle next to their bodies.<br/> <br />The attack came just hours after the Colombian government announced it had killed a brigade commander in an airstrike on a FARC camp.<br/> <br />Violence has intensified since a two-month unilateral ceasefire expired on January 20.<br/> <br />Six rebels and five soldiers have been killed in the last week.
