A massive outrage has broken over Madhya Pradesh Minister's remark on girls' security after he said that protecting girls is the primary responsibility of the parents and not the government. Reacting to queries by girls seeking a hostel facility in Alirajpur, Tribal Development Minister Vijay Shah said that their parents will have to give a written undertaking easing the government of the burden to protect them. Shah's comment evoked strong reactions from the all quarters. While, the opposition has demanded that the minister be sacked, National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Mamta Sharma has condemned Shah's statement.
