ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Aero India, one of Asia's biggest defense and aerospace shows took off in Bangalore on Wednesday with global equipment and aircraft makers descending on the venue, looking for a share of India's planned $100 billion defense spend over the next decade.<br/> <br />India, the world's biggest arms importer in recent years, plans the massive spends to upgrade its largely Soviet-era military equipment as it looks to keep pace with neighbor and Asian rival China<br/> <br />The five-day event will feature prominent international manufacturers such as French aircraft makers Dassault's Rafale and United Aircraft Corp, among others.<br/> <br />Dassault Aviation is showcasing three planes which will try and lure the Indian officials and decision makers over the next five days.<br/> <br />Earlier in 2012 Rafale had emerged as preferred bidder in a $15 billion contest to supply India with 126 warplanes, lifting hopes for a sale that would boost France's national pride and restore the luster of its aviation sector.
